Hi, My name is Dave and I'm the Project Leader and Charity Founder of Connect. I've a lot of passion to make a difference in the community and I try to work really hard to make sure we support as many people as we can. My background is in Community Education and after doing many roles including youth work, work with the homeless, supporting people with disabilities, aiding the elderly and research positions I finally started my dream job of beginning a charity for young people where there was a real need in late 2018. In my spare time I love spending time with my family, playing video games, reading comics & watching films.

Hello! I'm Lou, a Youth Worker with the Connect Team. I've been given an amazing opportunity to work with the young people in my local community and provide a safe space for expression and self realization. My art and design degree and experience as a practicing artist gives me the opportunity to encourage expression and creativity in the young attendees. I think expression in many forms is crucial to the development of young people. Young people are our future and Alloa's youth are no exception to that rule. If I can be a positive influence in a young person's life I will have achieved what I've set out to.

My name is Sang and I am the Minister of St. Mungo's Parish Church here in Alloa. It is where Connect Alloa meets on Tuesday and Friday evenings. When Dave Crozier approached me in late 2018 with the idea of providing a welcoming place for young people, a space where they are understood and accepted as and by friends, I said, "Let's do this thing." I am passionate about Jazz and I am also certified archery enthusiast. I enjoy playing tennis and staying busy with my two border collies, Wittgenstein and Ella.

Hi, Im Zoë & I'm a Volunteer Youth Worker. Working with young people is something I’ve always wanted to do. As I was a part of lots of different groups when I was younger and they made a huge difference to me as I was growing up. I’m a practicing artist as well so having to opportunity to start creative projects is really fun as well as a good use of my skills. I love a lot of the activities at Connect from D&D, to Warhammer to discussions too. I hope to be able to provide the young people a safe place for them to be themselves, as well as grow and develop.

Hey! My name is Michael and I am a student at Forth Valley College, studying working with communities. I am at the start of my journey as a Student Youth worker. I joined Connect because when I was young, I was involved in a lot of community groups and youth groups that have helped me to gain confidence and have inspired me to apply for this . I remember all the joy that I experienced when I was young and believe everyone deserves a happy, heathy, safe, and fun space to be themself!

I’m Katie and I’m a Trustee and Secretary for Connect Alloa. I have been heavily involved in the third sector over the past decade, working with adults and children with additional support needs, terminally ill patients, and the elderly. I found that I really enjoyed working with volunteers and am currently managing a befriending service. I decided I wanted to help out more in my local community and came across Connect Alloa. I grew up in the local area and found that there was a lack of activities and support for young people. I immediately felt I could resonate with Connect Alloa and their passion to reduce social isolation and loneliness in young people in the local community and so joined their team in July 2021. In my spare time I enjoy spending time with family and friends, binge watching true crime documentaries and reading.

Hello! Im Eilidh, I'm a Peer Mentor at Connect. I joined Connect Alloa in April 2019 as a young person looking for a safe space to meet new people and make some new friends. I am currently in high school and looking to study psychology in college! In my spare time I like to create and listen to music or do anything creative really! I belive that every young person deserves a place like Connect that is inclusive of everyone!

Hi, I'm Esther, I'm always proactively exploring new ideas, I have a strong determination to work things out and a spirit that makes me feel energetic and cheerful. I have been ministering people suffering from homelessness, orphans with accessibility needs, and young people from diverse backgrounds. I'm a founding member of two charities as well as a Trustee and pro bono legal consultant for different charities in Hong Kong. My legal practice has afforded me invaluable experience in understanding how much the community impacts lives, and that formed an indispensable foundation for my youth ministry work thereafter. I believe everyone deserves the same respect and appreciation, no matter where you come from. Boxing and all sorts of outdoor activities bring me joy. I long for a dog friend but have yet to get one, in the future he shall come. Hi I’m Kirsty, I am currently studying for my psychology and counselling degree and volunteer within a few roles in the local community. My son attends Connect Alloa and I have recently joined as a parent trustee. I am looking forward to meeting a lot of young people in the local community and helping out when I can. In my spare time I love to read and watch many crime documentaries, my favourite activity however is music and I can always be seen with my headphones in.
