FAQ’s

Who can attend?
Connect Alloa is open to all young people between the ages of 11 and 19 (the older age is based on individual assessments which involve the young person, staff and trustee team). We ask all young people to fill out a registration form before attending, which you can find here.

When do Connect Alloa meet?
Our usual session days/times are: Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays 4pm-9pm.

What kind of activities can I take part in?
At the moment, we are offering a mixture of in-person and online sessions. In-person activities include creative workshops for drawing, painting and photography. We also have a Nintendo Switch, which we use for multi-player games such as Mario Kart and Smash Brothers. Other activities include: movie nights, board games, geocaching and Dungeons and Dragons. 

For online sessions, we have been offering a range of different digital-friendly activities, including: playing online games together (Among Us, Jackbox Games), Dungeons and Dragons nights, as well as creative activities like drawing and painting. We’ve been using Discord to host these sessions.

Is it free to attend?
Yes, Connect Alloa is completely free to attend.

Are you looking for volunteers?
Yes! Connect Alloa are lucky to have an excellent team of volunteers already, but we are always looking to connect with new people who share our vision. Email dave@connectalloa.org.uk to find out more.

Where do Connect Alloa meet?
Connect Alloa are currently running face to face at: Connect, Unit 10, Carsbridge Court, Alloa, FK10 3LQ. We also run online groups on Discord on occasion too.

How do I access Discord for online sessions?

Can I bring my friends with me?
Of course, as long as they meet the necessary criteria mentioned above and fill out a registration form, they are more than welcome to join in. We love meeting new people!

What kind of fundraising events do you do?
Some fundraising activities we’ve tried before include: bag-packing at a local supermarket, a sponsored ‘Lock-In’ event, raffles and tombolas.We are always looking for new and creative ideas, so please get in touch if you have any suggestions!

I am above the age to attend but would still like to contribute, how can I help?
You could become a volunteer. Connect Alloa relies on the support of our volunteers to help us run our youth group sessions – we wouldn’t be here without their hard work and dedication! Why not get in touch for an informal chat? Email dave@connectalloa.org.uk.
