FAQ

Connect Alloa is open to all young people between the ages of 11 and 19 (the older age is based on individual assessments which involve the young person, staff and trustee team).

We ask all young people to fill out a registration form before attending, which you can find here.

We are currently providing both online and in-person youth sessions.

Online youth group sessions are hosted on Discord. We’ve put together a guide here.

In-person sessions take place at St. Mungo’s Parish Church, 10 Bedford Place, Alloa, FK10 1LJ.

Our usual session days/times are:

Tuesdays, 6:30pm to 8:30pm

Fridays, 6:30pm to 8:30pm

Saturdays, 11am to 1pm

These can sometimes change, so it’s a good idea to follow us on social media for updates!

We’ve put together a short guide on accessing and using our online Discord server. At the moment, our Tuesday evening sessions are hosted online. Read the guide here.

At the moment, we are offering a mixture of in-person and online sessions.

In-person activities include creative workshops for drawing, painting and photography. We also have a Nintendo Switch, which we use for multi-player games such as Mario Kart and Smash Brothers. Other activities include: movie nights, board games, geocaching and Dungeons and Dragons.

For online sessions, we have been offering a range of different digital-friendly activities, including: playing online games together (Among Us, Jackbox Games), Dungeons and Dragons nights, as well as creative activities like drawing and painting. We’ve been using Discord to host these sessions.

Yes, of course! We love meeting new people! As long as they meet the necessary criteria mentioned above and fill out a registration form.

Some fundraising activities we’ve tried before include: bag-packing at a local supermarket, a sponsored ‘Lock-In’ event, raffles and tombolas.

We are always looking for new and creative ideas, so please get in touch if you have any suggestions!

Yes! Connect Alloa is free to attend.

You could become a volunteer. Connect Alloa relies on the support of our volunteers to help us run our youth group sessions – we wouldn’t be here without their hardwork and dedication!

Why not get in touch for an informal chat? Email dave@connectalloa.org.uk.
